Ready for Organizational Tip #5 for our Get Organized Month! This is something I learned from my mother. Not by any verbal teaching but simply watching her in action. One thing my mom never would do is go to bed with dishes in the sink or “junk” on the table or counters. Of course in my day growing up, we did not have a dishwasher. So that meant she had to wash those dishes by hand. These weren’t the prior dinner dishes they were snack dishes from after dinner. But never was a dish left in the sink when she went to bed.
She also would be sure the counters were cleared and the kitchen table was set for the next morning’s breakfast. It was truly a simple task that took only a few minutes. But it was well worth her time and it will be well worth yours.
Waking up in the morning to the prior days “stuff” only starts your day on the wrong foot. Before you can tackle the day ahead, you first have to tend to the prior days mess. Don’t do that to yourself. Clean up that kitchen prior to heading off to bed. It truly only takes minutes!
