I have a story about my Heavenly Father that so blesses my heart and I want to share it with you to encourage you. Back in 2019, my precious daughter gave me for Christmas a gift of a beginner’s class to quilting along with a gift card to purchase the fabric. Because of all the fear about covid, the class got pushed out and out and out. Finally, I decided to just find a teacher to show me how to quilt and the journey of quilting began in 2021.
I have not stopped quilting since then as I am totally addicted to it and to date, I’ve made 42 quilts and have 5 ready to be quilted. This craft has so inspired me and brought much healing to my past traumatic abuses.
Remember “Women were designed to create!”
But that’s not the point of this writing.
Quilting is super expensive and frankly there is just so many quilts one person needs. As my own personal stash of quilts was growing and I really didn’t need any more, I didn’t want to stop quilting. So, the Lord put on my heart to make a quilt for others. He would put someone on my heart to make a quilt for … which I gladly did.
I would try to find out their colors or specific themes like are they modern or traditional in their likes. Sometimes I couldn’t get that information so I would rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me.
Then there could be times that I see a fabric at a quilt store that I like and it’s on sale. I might not have a specific use for it, but I feel led to purchase it especially that it’s on sale. So, into my stash it goes. Eventually, that fabric finds a use as God leads me to make it for someone specific.
This is where the Father blessed me!
Well, a few months ago my cousin told me her daughter was pregnant and God put on my heart to make her a quilt and a coordinating bag. I asked my cousin if she knew the sex of the baby and she said, “No and she doesn’t want to. She and her husband want to be surprised.” Well now I know the quilt needs to be “generic” per se.
So off I go looking for fabric. God directs me to a fabric called Animal Park Fun! It’s so cute and I made this quilt with it.
How fun it that!!!
Well, the best part comes a few weeks ago when I received the baby shower invitation. I almost cried. I said, “Father you are so good. You know every detail there is about everything. You care so much for this young mom and dad that you wanted to bless them this way. And Father you also care so much for me because you guided me to purchase this fabric. Because you knew that I love when you show me things to come.”

Sometimes we wait on God to do the “big” things in our lives but sometimes it’s the little things that can bless us beyond measure. This truly blessed me beyond measure.
Let this story inspires you to be connected to Christ, the Holy Spirit and of course the Father. He wants to be special to you as well. Such a simple story and blessing but such a big confirmation of His love for me as well as this mom and dad.
