Are the “building blocks” you are building for your life consisting of negative or positive words?  Stop and think about that for a moment.  It doesn’t necessarily mean everything is going perfectly in your life.  But if there are issues that seem to repeat themselves or you’ve been in a very long trial, then perhaps your “building blocks/words” need a paradigm shift.  Take a listen to this Podcast to help you understand the power of your words.

Welcome friends to my Podcast “Giving You a Fresh Start After Trauma!”  I have a message for you today that is building on my prior message so let’s get started.

“I’d Prefer to Read Your Message!”

As I asked in the introduction, I’m going to ask you again.

Now bear with me a minute as I lay some groundwork here for this writing.

I am not claiming that you can just “believe” something and it will magically happen or that you can just “speak something” over and over again and it will happen.  That’s New Age thinking.  New Agers are saying “the universe” spoke to them.  What?  The universe speaks to you.  Sometimes I want to cry when I hear that, because if that’s someone’s belief they are so lost.

It’s not the universe that tells you what to do.  It’s the Creator of the Universe and the Creator of you that is full of wisdom and knowledge, and He knows what you should do.  God says that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.”  So, we don’t want to be speaking death over ourselves or those around us.  Not only do you need to be cautious of your tongue but also where you put your faith.  Is it in God, the “universe” or even yourself?

So now onto my message …

The words that you speak AND believe are the building blocks that are designing or constructing your life.  If things are falling apart around you, perhaps check out what you are saying or believing.  Are you full of doom and gloom believing that your life won’t get better?  Then stop and begin to speak life to your situation.

“Fasten God’s Truth/Word firmly in your heart!”

Because the words that you speak can set the cornerstone in your life and you will live within the bondage of that boundary you created, if you are creating negativity.  Your life issues will fall into that created boundary.  Now can it be a good boundary?  Of course, it can and that’s what we need to aim for.

Let me give you an example and I’m going to touch lightly on this as there is a massive teaching here for me to write about in the future.  As a child, when the abuse around me was so overwhelming, I did go to people for help, but sadly it fell on deaf ears.  No one helped me.  What was I to do?  I was a child with a child’s mind.  Well, I came up with this “vow” (more on that at another time).

“If no one will take care of me, I’ll take care of myself.

I won’t let anyone try to take care of me.”

So, my life was being constructed with those words in the back of my mind.  I say back of my mind because frankly they eventually were not conscious, but they were there.  And, I have to say that I did not always create a good life.  It’s only by God’s Grace that He exposed that vow I made to myself so that I could dismantle it.

As you establish negative “words” in your life, you can create a life that is full of chaos, turmoil, pain and confusion.  But if you change your words, ask the Lord for new direction and trust Him to guide you there, you can establish something new in your life.

Let me share this story!

This very old article can shed some light on what I am saying.  It’s very old and was taken from The Reader’s Digest.   (Is that even in print anymore?).  The article was titled “Patient Knows Best” and was in the August 1991 issue.

A person’s answer to the question, ‘Is your health excellent, good, fair or poor?’ is a remarkable predictor of who will live or die over the next four years according to new findings.”

“A study of more than 2,800 men and women 65 and older found that those who rate their health ‘poor’ are four to five times more likely to die in the next four years than those who rate their health ‘excellent.’  This was the case even if examinations show the respondents to be in comparable health.”

“These findings are supported by a review of five other large studies, totaling 23,000 people, which reached similar conclusions, according to Ellen Idler, a sociologist at Rutgers University and epidemiologist Stanislav Kasl of Yale University School of Medicine, co-authors of the new study.”

People who have an image of themselves being in poor health will talk poor health.  I see this all the time when I go to my Quilting Sew Ins.  Almost everyone there is talking about some health issue they have.  It’s like it defines them.  I guess that’s what is on the forefront of their mind.

What you believe and speak!

What you believe and speakyou believe and speak not only affects your body, but it also can affect your immune system.  Your beliefs and your words can either bless you or curse you.  Don’t let them curse you.  Check what is in your heart because “out of our heart our mouth will speak.”  If we are full of anger, bitterness, or strife that will somehow come out of our mouths by what we speak.

Perhaps take the next 7 days and be very conscious of the words coming out of your mouth.  If you wake up tired, don’t speak it out.  If you feel lousy, don’t share it.  Speak life into yourself throughout the day and see what happens.

Have you ever read the studies of people who walk by a house plant daily and speak negativity over it.  Eventually the plant dies.  I know it can feel like you are speaking a lie by speaking the opposite of what you are feeling.  But I’m just suggesting you don’t feed into any negative thing that is happening to you.

Give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.  Praying for your victory.
