Unhealed trauma does not just go away.  Sadly, it settles in your body and your soul and will manifest itself any time it’s triggered.  Take a listen to this very short podcast about a client who became immobilized over a very simple project because of trauma.

I’d Prefer to Read Your Message

Last week I received a text (and a picture of a kitchen) about 2:30 in the afternoon from an organizing and coaching client that has been my client for a number of years.

Are you available today seriously, are you?

She was overwhelmed and in panic mode.  Her refrigerator broke and her new one was delivered that afternoon.  The delivery men just showed up without letting her know they were on their way, so her refrigerator was full, and I mean full when they arrived. She didn’t have a chance to empty it.

Fortunately, they helped her empty it, installed her new refrigerator and left.  Of course, they were not going to load the new one with her food and my client was on overload.  It was too much for her to process and put back all her food in the new refrigerator.  Hence, her text message.

Are you available today seriously, are you?

I was in the middle of my editing project and frankly didn’t want to stop.  Plus, I don’t take organizing jobs that start around 3 – 3:30 in the afternoon.  But I knew what she was going through, and it was real.  So, my heart went out to her, and I told her I’d come.  My minimum time for organizing is two hours and she had no problem with that.  She lives about 45 minutes from me and was willing to pay me from the time I left my house.  That is how appreciative she was for me coming and how desperate she felt.

I would not accept being paid for my travel time and only charged her for the two hours.  I successfully loaded her new refrigerator with her food that was scattered all over the kitchen.

Why share this story with you?

Because she was so overwhelmed at a project that took me an hour to do.  To her she couldn’t muster the energy to get her food organized and in the refrigerator.  Why?  Trauma.  Past trauma that her and I are working on but sadly last week she was re-traumatized.  Because she still has not received the completeness of her healing, this project immobilized her.  (She resists doing some of the hard work and we’ve discussed this. But that’s ok.  It’s all a process.)

Many of us think that if we get ourselves out of the traumatic circumstances and move on, the pain of it all will be gone.  Perhaps you walked away from the trauma, but if you have not been fully healed, it’s actually just stuffed down in your body and soul, and it will get triggered and pop it’s ugly head.  I guarantee it.

Such a simple project of putting the food back in her refrigerator was too much for her.  Is that you?  Are you on overload or overwhelm and you realize you have no energy for the simple things of life?  Don’t stay there.  You don’t have to live with it.  You can receive the fullness of healing from the Father.  He created you, placed you in your mother’s womb, allowed you to be born and now He can bring the fullness of healing to you.  I promise.

Reach out.  Let’s chat.  I will help you.  My heart is to set you free from what has you bound.

Love, blessings AND freedom!
