Welcome friends to Giving You a Fresh Start After Trauma.  Remember every day and ever minute of the day we can have a fresh start no matter what you have on your plate that is causing turmoil in your life.  So let’s give you a fresh start in perhaps taking a look at your purpose and why God placed you here on this earth.

Recently, I had a conversation with two lovely friends about what our purpose on this earth is.  Funny this conversation came up as we were crafting and being “creative.”  But that is like our God.  Whilst in the middle of being creative with our hands, our minds starting on the wheel of creativity and asking questions.

Do you know why you were put here on this earth?

I think I do.  Growing up my life was riddled with traumas.  Traumas that did not get healed until I was an adult.  I remember having some prayer/deliverance time with my Pastor, his wife and my therapist.  He asked me a profound question.  “Regina after you were abused how did you get comforted?”  Boy that question caused me to pause and think … I mean I had to really think.  “Rick, I didn’t get comforted.”

What did my lack of comfort cause me to do?  Find relief myself.  Look to things of this world to bring me comfort not knowing that the only true comfort is from the Holy Spirit because “He is our comforter.” 

Who is God?

God is so faithful, loving and caring that after much work (and painful at times) He brought me healing from all abuses of my past.  Is my past completely healed?  Yes and perhaps a little no. I have received tremendous healing from much of my abuses but things do come up now and then.  Fortunately, I now know how to go to the great healer and be healed of that specific issue that popped up.  What comes up from my past that can still torment me is having a wrong belief system that I’m operating from.  When you grow up believing one way, until someone or something shows you different you don’t know it’s a false belief.  So when a false belief gets uncovered to me, I do some “recoding” or “reframing” of my thinking.

Now, if you follow Christ, He has said,

“Be a Witness” not “Go and Witness”

He wants our life to be a witness to the power of the Cross and what Christ died to give us.  When we receive healing and feel that freedom, we are living in a place where we need to help others get there as well.

“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”  Acts 4:20

When I go to hear spiritual teaching/preaching, I’m not moved nor interested in that person’s educational background.  I don’t care how many letters they have after their name or what seminary they were educated in.  I’m unimpressed.

What I want to know is how many times they were on your knees crying to the Father for their deliverance, help or guidance.  Or how many times they lie on their bed in a fetal position because the situation they were in was so painful and devastating and had completely depleted them of energy and they were laying in the hands of their Father for help.

People aren’t interested in educational backgrounds.

They are interested in “the things in which you have seen and heard.”  People aren’t interested in “theory.” What want “reality, truth and experience.”  They want to hear your experience and how you got to victory!

Personally, I have had those fetal positions many times in my healing process. I had times where I thought I would be taken away in a strait jacket because I felt I was losing my mind.  But God NEVER left me in that place and brought me through to complete healing and wholeness. 

“For thou shalt be HIS WITNESS unto all men

of what thou has SEEN AND HEARD.”  Acts 22:15

I believe my purpose, my calling, my destiny is to help other women receive that freedom that Christ died to give each of us.  I’m not guiding woman from textbook teaching but from my personal experience of healing and deliverance.  And the beautiful thing is God is faithful.  What He has done for one He will do for all.

What is your testimony?

Take a look at what  the Lord has done for you and through you?  Your testimony, your calling and purpose is part of your being a witness of what you went through and came out the other end victorious.    We all have a testimony and if you feel you have nothing to testify about, take a step back and look again.  I guarantee you there is a testimony in you or being developed in you.  If it’s being developed in you, then understand we cannot have a testimony without a “test”.  It will be important to stay close to the Lord always and you will have victory.

So, if you are currently going through a “test” right now, hang in there and hang onto your Father.   If you do, He will give you …

Deliverance  

Peace

Joy

Provision
