Do you want to be healthier than your parents were? I know if someone asked me this question it would be a resounding yes!!! Sadly, my parents spent their retirement years at doctor visits and sometimes many a week. It was like their way of “getting out of the house.” Such a sad way to spend your last years.
Ponder this statement below from Dr. Jae Hixton.

If we had parents that did not enjoy the end of their life because of medical issues and we don’t want to have a repeat of that for ourselves, then we need to not “inherit their healthcare.” What does that mean? Well for me it would mean some of the following:
- I would STOP all processed foods and make my meals from scratch. (Which I do!)
- I would work with a Functional Medicine Doctor or Naturopathic doctor to help me get off all my meds. Note: Medications were not meant to be a lifelong endeavor but an episodic one to help a specific health issue.
- I would do my own research to find out if a medication my doctor was prescribing me had serious side effects and then look for other ways to heal my health issue. I would first try natural ways. Medication would be a last resort.
- I would be more active and not sit on the coach in front of the TV all day.
- I would try to stay out of the medical “system” as much as possible.
Friends, don’t go to war with your body!
Your body was designed by the
Creator of the Universe to heal itself.
You just need to give it the tools it needs.
My parents were like a pharmacy.
They were on so many meds that it would be hard to untangle that web. Because you see I’m sure one medication that they were on was to treat one issue, but it created another issue as a side effect, and it just snow balled from there.
For example, my mom was on a bladder medication which probably caused her high blood pressure. So, she had to be put on a blood pressure medication. After a while that one HBP medication wasn’t enough, so she needed another.
Today, so much is being uncovered by the work that Robert Kennedy and his administration is doing to expose what is happening and has happened in the medical industry. Pay attention. Do your research and if you are angry with him, put that aside and pay attention. He is trying to help the people. Put aside politics and listen to what he is saying and watch what he is doing.
This was amazing!
When my mom was reaching the end of her life, she ended up in the hospital with. Going into the hospital was not good for her because she became so confused and would even imagine things happening to her. At one point during this specific hospital stay, she became “non-responsive.” She was lying in bed with her eyes open but not blinking (very weird to see). The Hospitalist calls me and says that my mom is psychotic, and they wanted to put her on psychotic medication. I told the doctor she was crazy. My mom was not psychotic. She was reaching the end of her life. I told her no way would I approve this.
The Doctor said, “Well she is here to be treated, and we are giving her meds. She probably should go into Hospice.” I talked with my sisters and we agreed. They took her off all meds and placed her in Hospice. I went to the Hospital with my Bible and prayed over her for about 3 hours. I just read the Word to her and told her it’s ok she could go; Jesus was waiting for her.
After 3 hours, she started to blink.
Then she started looking around the room. She still wasn’t aware that I was there at this point, but she was becoming aware of her surroundings. After about another 30 minutes or so she realized I was there and started communicating with me. After a few days, she was taken off Hospice, brought to rehab and went back to her Assisted Living Apartment. We never put her back on any of her meds.
When she arrived back to her home, SHE WAS A DIFFERENT PERSON. She was no longer depressed, lethargic, or sad. She was happy and talkative. I even had a party for her so my family could come and spend time with her enjoying this “new” person.
Why am I sharing this story with you?
Because I believe all the meds she was on was destroying her life. Maybe they were helping her with a specific issue but on the other end they were causing her to have a life that was not good. My mom lived another 5 months, and she was off all her meds. She sadly died from COPD as her heart gave out, and the sad part of that is she never smoked a day in her life. It was all secondhand smoke from my dad and a co-worker. The point here is that her meds were causing her to be depressed, lethargic and unmotivated and I’m sure other issues as well. If she did not have COPD, I wonder how much longer she would have lived and enjoyed her now found freedom.
Friends if your parents had a life as they got older of medical doctor visits, prescriptions and just never feeling good, don’t follow in that path. Just because they had massive health issues does not mean you inherit them. There is something called Epigenetics where you can change the genetic plan of your body. There might have been things you learned from your parents that could put you on that same path, but you can today say NO! I’m not going there.
