I hope your Thanksgiving weekend was wonderful.

I enjoyed Thanksgiving with my children, my son’s girlfriend and two of my daughter’s friends.  We ate, we talked, we played a game (thanks Erin), and we ate again.  It was a wonderful time.  Great food and great company.

Now there’s the leftovers.

I’ve had two turkey dinners since Thanksgiving and, of course, my homemade turkey soup.  I do love this time of year.  The hard part is not putting on the pounds.  I wouldn’t get on the scale these past few days but this morning I got the courage and did.  I only gained one pound.  Not bad for all the mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and pies.  Now it’s time to settle down and cut the sugar and starches from my diet.

How about you?

Do you feel like you overindulged on food that you shouldn’t have?  Does your gut feel out of sorts and even upset at times?  I have an easy solution for you that could help aid in settling your stomach.  First, of course, eliminate these sugary/starchy foods and then try Essential Oils!

If I haven’t told you before, let me say it again … I LOVE MY ESSENTIAL OILS!  I’ve been using Essential Oils since 2015.  I probably have close to 80 oils, and I use all of them, some more than others.

So, what are some of the oils you could use to help settle your over bloated stomach?

  1. Ginger Essential Oil – it is very comforting after a big meal and can aid in settling those “queasy” feelings. This oil is rich in sesquiterpenes which is known to settle and sooth your stomach.
  2. Peppermint Essential Oil – this oil is classic for stomach issues (and even headache issues). It can aid in easing that bloated and full feeling you have after eating.  If your stomach feels bloated, full of pressure and tight, this might be the oil for you.
  3. DigestZen Essential Oil – this is an oil blend that has Peppermint, Coriander, Ginger, Caraway, Cardamom, Fennel, and Anise. I LOVE THIS BLEND.  I have successfully used this oil many times when I had an upset stomach.  I rolled the oil on my belly and my stomach upset was gone.  No joke. This oil is real to me.
  4. Castor Oil – this is a great carrier oil that will encourage a natural detox. (Not sure why you should use a carrier oil, reach out and I’ll explain.)

These recommendations may have come a little late since Thanksgiving is over unless you have these oils on hand.  But it’s definitely information you should hold close and perhaps oils you should consider stocking up on as Christmas is just around the corner.  Not that I’m suggesting we should overindulged in eating but sometimes we just do.

What are the oils I use?
