One of the many things I learned from my Certification with IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition) is that we are all bio-individuals. So, what may work for me, may not work for you.  That’s where having a knowledge of who you are, what you like and what you are about is important.

When we feel lost in ourselves and do not have a clear identity, we can be like a boat tossed out in the sea letting the waves (other people’s desires or doings) push us around.  We begin to compare ourselves with others and think there is something wrong with us because we don’t do it (whatever “it” may be) like others.

Be free my friend.  You are uniquely created.  There is not one other person on this planet like you.  Not only is your DNA different as well as your fingerprints, but who you are and what you do will be different as well.

Have …

Confidence over Comparisons

Have confidence in who you are.  Don’t move into comparisons because that’s when lies will begin to develop in you.  Those lies can imbed themselves in you and steer you on the wrong path.

I have a sister who is 2 years older than me, so she developed before I did.  When I was a young teen, I would admire her stature as she was tall, slender, had a flat belly and an hourglass figure.  Me, I always had a little bulge in my belly and thought I was fat.  I literally grew up believing I was fat.

Then one day I saw my daughter in a dance class.  My daughter had the cutest shape not an ounce of fat on her.  She was standing next to a girl with an hourglass figure.  I saw the comparison.  My daughter wasn’t fat she just had a different shape.  She had a similar body shape as me.  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  I was not fat as a child.  I was just different.  But because I compared myself to my sister, I believed for years I was fat.

Friends have …

Confidence over Comparisons

Have confidence that you are uniquely made and that is perfect.  Don’t compare yourself or what you do to others.  You were not made to be someone else but yourself.  Until we can be happy in ourselves, we will always live in a state of frustrations, disappointments, and comparisons.

So off you go.  Be happy and content in your life and if there are things that don’t sit well with you, then go and make changes.  But don’t make those changes because you are comparing yourself to someone else.  Make those changes because you want better for yourself.

Be blessed and encouraged.
