Having victory in your life is something we have to battle for at times.  Having it just drop down from heaven is not very likely to happen.  So what do we do?  We have to push through to be free from what has us bound.  Take a listen to this Podcast to understand what we need to be able to push through to victory and freedom.

“I’d Rather Read Your Message!”

Hello friends … welcome to my Podcast Giving You a Fresh Start After Trauma.   I’m glad you are here and I hope my message will give you the encouragement you need to move closer to freedom and victory in your life.  Let’s get started.

Last week I wrote about “digging deeper” until you receive answers to your life issues or problems.  If you haven’t read my writing or would like to read it again, here is the Blog Post.  Blog Post on Digging Deeper

Today, I’d like to continue along the line of guiding you to a place of victory in your life.  The concept that I want to discuss in this writing is about “pushing through.”  So, we need to “dig deeper” but once we have our answer we then need to “push through.”

My Client …

Last week, I worked with an organizing client who I’ve worked with for about 9 years on and off.  She calls me back to “fine tune” some areas in her home and to also receive encouragement.  Currently, she is dealing with not being motivated or having energy to even do the simple things in life.  So, she called me back to help finish something she started.

Sadly, she finds herself going back to bed during the day for several hours.  While working with her, I encouraged her that she was going to have to “push through” and not give in to this desire of going back to bed throughout the day.

There was no judgment on my part!

I wasn’t judging her in any way or trying to imply that this was easy, as I was just trying to help her get out of the state she had fallen into.  My recommendation was if it was late morning and she wanted to go back to bed, that she must not allow herself to go there … no matter what.  This is “pushing through.”

As I said, this will not be easy for her but if she keeps giving in to her lack of energy or motivation and falls back into bed, she will never have victory.  I suggested that perhaps if she feels so tired that she could not do anything, to go sit on the coach or in a chair and close her eyes for a few minutes.  But no matter what, don’t give into her bed because it was just re-enforcing her feelings and emotions even more.

I know this won’t necessarily be easy as I do understand how our emotions can take over and then we give in to them.  Trying to “push through” in our own strength can almost be impossible … especially if we have been in this place for a while.

How do you push through?

With that being said, it does not mean you cannot “push through” and get yourself out of what has you bound.  The very first thing I would do is ask the Lord for “grace” (which is His power and strength to do what you need to do).  I can attest to doing this so many times in my life with great success.  It doesn’t necessarily happen immediately, as I did give into what I was trying to fight.  But if we don’t give up, eventually grace will come immediately when you ask.  I had to fall a few times to eventually “push through” to victory.

What are some of the areas in your life that you might need to “push through?”

  • Do you worry?
  • Are you walking in fear or anxiety?
  • Do you need to “renew your mind.”
  • Are you falling into having no energy or motivation?
  • Do you believe the lies that perhaps God won’t heal you?
  • Do you operate with a spirit of rejection?
  • Are you struggling financially?
  • Have people spoken negatively over you or to you and you believe what they said?
  • You let negative thoughts ruminate in your mind.

Then perhaps it’s time for you to “dig deeper” for the truth and once you find it “push through” to be pulled out of the state you are in.  Do you know that “the truth will set you free.”

What God doesn’t do!

Unfortunately, God doesn’t wave His magic wand over us and say, “Ok moving forward Regina your issue is gone, and you will be free.”  Oh my gosh wouldn’t that be nice if it were true?

No, we must make the decision that –

  • We want that freedom and will battle to get it.
  • We will choose to believe truth and remove the lies.
  • We will come against the lies when they pop up and try speaking to us.

If you are a believer in Christ, then the Father has placed you in His Kingdom (the Kingdom of God).  The Kingdom that Christ said is ours if we repent and accept it.  It’s His gift to us.  Once we receive the gift, there is a problem though and that is we must battle to stay there.  There is so much that tries to pull us out of abiding there.  But the wonderful thing is He gives us His Grace to have staying power.

Am I fully there?  I wish I was.  But I am determined to be in that place continually and recognize quicker when I’ve moved out of it.  I know there will be times that I have to “push through” to get beyond what is troubling me.  As a matter of fact, last week I did take my own advice and dug deeper on an issue troubling me. I did have a renewed sense and breakthrough moment and was glad I “dug deeper.”

Can you begin digging deeper or pushing through?  I’m here if you need some encouragement or coaching through it.
