Hello friends. Welcome to my Podcast Giving You a Fresh Start After Trauma. One of the areas I am passioned about teaching on is eating clean to ensure your health is not hindered by toxic food. Well, I’m Regina Sanchez and I’m so glad you are here to take a listen.
Do you feel frustrated trying to ensure you are eating healthy food? If you do, it is truly understandable. Because the food industry manipulates so much of our food, it can be hard to know for sure. But we mustn’t lose hope but keep pressing forward. Robert Kennedy along with his team are doing some great work in this area. We can support them by continuing to speak out and stop purchasing toxic food. (Below will be a list of food that have bioengineered ingredients.)
Just Stop Buying It!
Constantly legislating these issues is time consuming and not always effective. Frankly, the easiest way to get these food manufacturers to stop making toxic food is to just stop buying it. But if we don’t know what is toxic, how can we stop purchasing it. That’s why I’m creating my new Study Guide called Your Journey to Wholeness – God Wants You Well! Stay tuned it’s in its final stages.
One area I want to talk with you about is the renaming of GMOs. I remember a year or so ago being at Whole Foods. I had stopped purchasing olives from the olive bar because instead of using “oil olive” with their olives they were using canola oil. Mind boggling but so be it. I just stopped purchasing their olives. But I did keep going to the oil bar periodically to see if things changed.
Well one day it did. They had stopped the canola oil and was using safflower or sunflower which is still not the best but better than canola. I kept seeing these words, “may contain bioengineered ingredients.” I finally called the cheese man over and questioned what this was. “Oh, that’s simply GMO. They changed the name,” he said. I was not surprised because it seems that once people start waking up to these toxic ingredients, the food manufacturers change the name. Just like they did with petroleum food coloring. They now have “pretty” names instead of Blue Lake #2 or Yellow Dye #5. (You will be able to read all about that in my Study Guide). I bet each food manufacturer employs someone to “check the pulse of the people.”
Bioengineered ingredients are something we need to stay away from. Why? First understand when you see bioengineered ingredients, “know that this isn’t just a required note. It’s a consumer warning – and it’s more serious than you might realize,” says Robyn Openshaw.
What Does “Bioengineered” Mean?
Bioengineering is actually a step beyond traditional GMOs (genetically modified organisms). What happens is “the molecular structure of these ingredients has been altered. They splice genes in ways that were never intended by nature. They produce food-like substances that are designed in labs, not grown in fields. Artificial flavors, additives, and synthetic components are created and cannot be properly tested or regulated for long-term safety.” according to Openshaw.
Sadly, bioengineered foods are in our kitchens, and we aren’t even aware of the safety of these foods. And it could take years of usage before we find out the negative downside of bioengineered food on our health. But we do know that GMO ingredients are not safe so can we expect a positive impact from bioengineered? I’m not on the side of yes.
Will we begin to see a rise in autoimmune diseases or cancers? Will we find that people have greater emotional disorders or higher neurological conditions? For me, I not willing to be a “test patient.”
What is one to do?
- Make better food choices.
- Read labels.
- Stay away from processed foods.
- If the list of ingredients is long, don’t purchase it.
- Go back to making food from scratch. I promise you; it can be fun!

Then as you are shopping, READ LABELS and if you see the word “Bio-engineered” then be sure to not purchase them.
I hope you found this information helpful and know that my Study Guide will be more comprehensive to help you detox your home and get you on the path to wholeness.
