Last week we talked about your Home Environment on the Circle of Life. Were you able to make any changes in your home environment or does your home already give you that peace, rest, and comfort you need? Do you have questions about tackling any of those home projects, I’m here for you!
This week I want to discuss the area of your creativity. This Circle of Life Spoke on the Wheel is one of my favorites. I’m not the most creative person but I do enjoy diving into a project.
Why is creativity so important to your life?
Well for one it gives you an opportunity to utilize the right side of your brain. Your left side is that logical thinker and the right-side houses your creativity. This is good especially if you are more of a left-brain thinker and you have a job that works the left side more than the right.
Stepping into something that requires your creative juices can help you relieve some stress and/or tension. It’s a great way to clear the fog and just have enjoyment in what you are doing.
When I feel overwhelmed and really need to clear my head, one of the things I do is go outside and garden. I love working with my flowers, getting my hands in the dirt, and making my flowers look beautiful. It clears my head and gives me a chance to talk to my ABBA Father. I can get great revelation working in the garden.
Love my Scrapbooking!
Another thing I’ve been doing for years (since 1997) is Scrapbooking. I’m the family historian and have over 50 Scrapbooking albums that I’ve created. It’s fun for me to take our family photos and create memories for my children and I to enjoy for years to come. I love creating these albums and I even create some as gifts.
Recently I started quilting. I finished one quilt and am now working on making a “Jelly Roll Rug.” I’m almost done with that and then will start another quilt. I find this so much fun because every week I have a creative project to look forward to.
Am I saying that you need to do these projects?
Absolutely not. You have in you a creative streak that will cause you joy once you get started. All you need to do is find one that interests you. What are some creative ideas you could consider?
- Sewing
- Knitting
- Crocheting
- Stamping
- Scrapbooking
- Painting
- Restoring furniture
- Gardening
- Drawing
- Painting
- Pottery
- Baking
- Jewelry Making
- Designing and sewing clothes
- Photography
- Writing a book
- Making a rag rug
- Making soap
- Creating a song
This list is truly not complete. There is so much more you could do to get your creative juices going. Just go to Pinterest to find even more ideas.
Shut the TV off, get off social media and choose something.
Choose anything. Just get started. If you start something and find it’s not your thing, that’s ok. Move on and try another.
