I hope you had a blessed Christmas and/or Hannukah with your family and friends. It can be a hectic and busy time and now that it’s over hopefully you can rest, relax and reflect on what 2023 will bring.
Set your intention on making 2023 a good year
… despite what is still happening around us. Be quiet and still as much as possible this week. Enjoy downtime and time to just be silent. That can be hard because we are so used to being stimulated all the time. But being quiet and still is so beneficial for our peace and well-being.
My favorite thing to do!
One of my favorite things to do is sit in my rocker by my window and just quieting enjoy that time. I’m not sure why this moves me so much, but my mom said as a little girl I would go to the window and just stand there looking outside for the longest time. I was so little that only my eyes were above the windowsill. I’m not sure why I did that as a young child, but I have some thoughts on it.
I have continued that desire into my adulthood. I always wished my house had a front porch so I could sit outside and greet my neighbors or those walking by. One of these days I will have that house with a front porch.
I’m encouraging you this week!
I encourage you this week to be still and listen to the heart of your Father as He always wants to speak to you. Prayfully you were able to take my challenge of shutting off the news to give your mind and emotions a break. Clear the clutter from your mind and be quiet this week.
Then start to strategize what you would like to see for 2023. I’m not saying make a resolution. I don’t believe in that. I’m saying set some goals and know that God wants to give you the desires of your heart.
Enjoy this week, prepare for 2023 and have a great time connecting with your heart and rejuvenating those desires once again.
