We live in a time where living in a state of peace can be hard. With so much happening in the world and in our personal lives, it can be difficult to get into that place of peace. It is possible to remove yourself from getting swallowed up in the external chaos but the internal chaos we might have will take some intentional healing to then bring you to a place of peace and rest. Take a listen to this podcast to understand what could be causing lack of peace in your life … aside from the external worldly chaos.
Hello friends. Welcome to my Podcast Giving You a Fresh Start After Trauma. Today I want to help propel you into a fresh start. Thanks for being here.
“I’d Prefer to Read Your Message”
This statement below is so true. In my past 13 years of organizing, I have been given the opportunity to work with individuals with many different clutter challenges.

First there is the individual who has “situational” clutter issues. This means that certain life issues have caused them to not focus on tidying up but to focus on their current situation. It could be the birth of a new baby, caring for a sick family member, a move, a new job. However their life changed or added to the plate, was causing them to give more attention to that issue and the clutter piled up.
But don’t get me wrong, their clutter has caused a tremendous lack of peace in their life. When they’ve come their breaking point, they reach out for help. Because they are ready to get the peace back in their life, they move with great determination to “clear the clutter.”
Lack of Peace Guides Their Life!
Then there is the individual that has let a lack of peace in their life be what guides, controls and orchestrate their day-to-day life. This individual usually has some pain in their life or trauma that is unhealed and has been buried somewhere in their heart and soul. As much as they say they want the clutter gone, they are lying to themselves. Their clutter serves a purpose, and they won’t let it go.
Sometimes the pain inside is so powerful, that they turn the focus onto the clutter and it seems to numb the inside pain. “I’m going to tend to this clutter and bring peace into my life,” they might say or think. But as they begin the process of decluttering, they find every excuse to hold onto it even if there is no room, they have multiple items of the same thing, bought too much or they frankly don’t need it. They need to hold onto the clutter. Taking their clutter away is like cutting off a limb. It’s part of their life and their protection.
It’s sad for me to see individuals not desire to have not only peace in their heart but peace in their environment. Studies show that clutter increases cortisol levels in women and constant increased cortisol levels can cause dis-ease in your body.
Seek After Peace in Your Life!
If that is you, know that you can be healed. Seek after peace in your life. Know that it’s not about the clutter but about the unhealed wounds and trauma in your body. You can try therapy and work through the trauma, but I found that until I gave my pain to the Lord, was I fully healed. He created me and He healed me. I know He will do the same for you. The Bible says, “Who Jesus sets free is free indeed!” I hope you desire today to be free.
Some people cannot afford to hire a professional organizer. For those, I have created a Step-by-Step Organizing Program (with videos and worksheets) to help you navigate this challenge on your own. If you would like more information, please let me know.
