For years we have believed that once our brain is damaged, we will have to live with that damaged brain for the rest of our lives. But that is not true. Have you heard of neuroplasticity?
According to the National Association of Mental Illness (NAMI), “neuroplasticity can be viewed as a general umbrella term that refers to the brain’s ability to modify, change, and adapt both structure and function throughout life and in response to experience.”
That is exciting news. We are able to continually work on our brain to keep it healthy and get it healthy if we have issues. That what Dr. Amen and Dr. Jackson are all about.
Read what Dr. Amen has to say about healing our brain.
Dr. Amen works on individual’s brains and provides tremendous healing especially to those with traumatic brain injury (TMI). He can scan a brain and see if a person is on the road to dementia giving them a chance to bring healing
But I also love the statement below from Dr. Avery Jackson, Neurosurgeon from Michigan Neurosurgical Institute.
Understand what these two “brain” doctors have to say and don’t live any longer with the belief you are stuck with your brain in the state it is in. There is much you can do in the way of nutrition and supplements to keep your brain healthy … and also even some brain exercises.
