How The Food Industry Deceives Us!

I don’t think anyone would argue with me that these past 2 ½ years have been on some level hard for everyone.  Now with the CDC changing where they stand with the C-Virus, it is so disturbing. What the Naturopathic Doctors have been shouting from the roof tops and have been silenced is now being supported by these three-letter organizations cleverly as their “agenda” was fulfilled.

I believe as we move forward, we are going to find what other ways our Government has lied and deceived us going back decades and decades.  It is something we need to be prepared for and be sure that we have the emotional stability to take it all in.

But today I want to talk to you about food and how we are being deceived.  Earlier I went to get gas for my car, I was reminded of a way our Government lets Restaurants deceive us.  You see I live not far from the airport in CT.  I can get to the back side of the airport in about 8 minutes.  The backside of the airport has gas stations and many, many fast-food restaurants.  Gas there for some reason is less than most other places in town, so I opt to go there as much as possible.

As I was pumping my gas, I could smell BBQ steaks or burgers.  My oh my it smelled so good and was beginning to whet my appetite.  My juices were starting to flow, and I knew when I returned home, I needed to fix lunch, but boy I could go for a BBQ steak or burger.  Then I snapped out of it and realized, “Oh yes, I’m being deceived,” because you see that smell I was smelling wasn’t real.  It was manufactured.

How do I know?  Well, 40 years ago my roommate dated and married a PhD scientist who had moved up from NJ.  Before he moved to Connecticut, he was a scientist for a company call International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF).  I have no idea if this company still exists or if it was bought out by someone else, which I would venture the latter to be true.

But his job at IFF was to create the chemical fragrance for these fast-food restaurants to emit into the environment the fragrance of what their specialty was to entice customers to want to go in and purchase their food.  Isn’t that interesting?  Interesting and deceptive.

So, the next time you are around these fast-food restaurants and smell a scent that is enticing you to come in an eat, I hope you think twice.  Why?  Well let’s apply some critical thinking and common sense here. If they need chemicals to create a desire in you to come in and eat their food, what did they put in their food to make it taste good or even real?  That’s the question.

Like my favorite person, Attorney Lin Wood says, “Do your research and connect the dots.  I’ve done mine.”
